Welcome Message from APAS President
Year 2008 is great meaningful for APAS because it has come to its tenth anniversary and it is my great pleasure that I could salute this exciting time during my tenure as the president of APAS.
As we all know, with the good desirability to impart the scientific knowledge and surgical techniques on hip and knee arthroplasty, and to share the research findings and forge future collaborations among Asian-Pacific region, APAS was originally founded in 1998 with our Founding Chairman, Dr.Wui K. Chung, as the urger. After 10 years with the contributions of all our members, now APAS has already grown up to one of the most conspicuous orthopediac forum in this area.
We are now preparing the tenth Annual Scientific Meeting of APAS. Professor David Choon, one of our core members, will kindly host this meeting in Sabah, Malaysia. This would be the second time APAS comes to Malaysia. The 5th Annual Scientific Meeting in the Year 2003 was highly successful and it is the fast development and expansion of arthroplasty in Malaysia that brings us back here.
I'm sure in this beautiful place filled with nature and romantic,Professor Choon and his group will give us another resounding success with its international symposium, which will further widen the theoretical knowledge, promote the practical skills, and extend clinical experiences allowing for a sharing plane. Moreover, as each time of APAS scientific meeting, it will certainly give us a marvelous opportunity for special insights not only at medical practice in joint replacement but also in its alternatives by direct contact and through the individual discussions during the symposium.
I'm looking forward to welcome you all in Sabah in September, 2008!

Prof. Wang Yan
APAS President
